Erik A. Leonavicius is passionate about exploring, to creating and delivering, together with his students and clients, inspiring food & beverage experiences, innovative business models, and hospitality environments. He connects innovation, hospitality and foodservice theory with practice: from gathering customer insights to idea generation, rapid prototyping, business model design, financing, roll-out, operations, distribution and marketing.
He is an Associate Professor (Dozent) at Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship and University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany since 2009. His lectures, papers and his work as a co-author of leading books, cover the topics of Business Innovation Framework, Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking, Human Centered Innovation, Business Model Generation, Quality and Technology Management at the Tourism, Hotel/ Restaurant/ Foodservice Administration and Design.
Erik founded 2006 his Innovation Agency REINVENTIS, with the aim to offer a special form of innovation support for brands, companies and real estate, based on strategic analysis, research, concept and implementation consulting.
Erik has studied economics in Munich, London and New York, majoring in International Hospitality Management and Strategic Marketing. He has 3-year-training in Restaurant Management with practical management functions, among others at McDonald’s and Restaurants of Switzerland Mövenpick.
In 2010 Erik initiated the industry solution RESTAURANTMARKETING in German-speaking countries as part of the REINVENTIS Hospitality Design Thinking Initiative. Aim is to improve all customer touchpoints in the food experience and value creation chain.
As a food-/lifestyle editor Erik is often travelling the world to explore where to find the best chocolate, champagne, and truffles, as well as emerging food trends, the latest designer food halls and food & beverage manufacturers. He is also a regular mystery guest in small food-startups and leading restaurants.
